In the words of Brisbane Heat – “He delivered when it mattered most. A career-best for Sam.”
At the conclusion of the game, Sam humbly accepted the Man of the Match honours for his outstanding batting performance. He came to the crease with the Brisbane Heat in desperate trouble at 2/14. He, alongside fellow Redlands Cricket Club players, successfully steadied the ship.
Sam scored 74 not out and batted out the innings, hitting the winning runs with only five balls to spare. After a slow start, scoring his first 19 runs off 25 balls, Sam pushed the accelerator and remarkably scored his next 55 runs off only 24 balls, thereby motoring his team to a well-deserved victory.
Sam, we at Sheldon College could not be prouder of your incredible achievements. The perseverance and commitment to the sport that you have displayed are admirable. The entire College community wishes you every success with all your future cricketing endeavours.
