Years 7 and 8

Years 7 and 8 students at Sheldon College are nurtured in the world of Secondary Education and are provided with foundational knowledge and experiences which will hold them in good stead for future years.

In Years 7 and 8, we engage passionate and inquiring minds by offering an extensive range of courses which allow the development of 21st century skills. Our unique curriculum approach ensures student success whereby we aim to produce expert learners who are flexible, confident, creative and intrinsically motivated. We empower our students to innovate and actively collaborate in authentic contexts to ensure preparedness for a dynamically changing world.

Through effective timetabling processes, we are able to offer Academic Extension classes in a number of subject areas. This allows students who exhibit high academic ability the opportunity to be challenged beyond the scope of what is generally on offer in mainstream classes. This process is managed through the Director of Academics and aims to advantage all students.

A variety of Academic Enrichment Programs are available to Years 7 and 8 students which aim to enrich and accelerate the holistic educational experience at Sheldon College.
