Sheldon College has swept the pool in the regional qualification stage for Tennis Queensland’s 2020 Primary Schools Cup, claiming Metropolitan East Champion status in all four divisions on offer.

Further emphasising the depth of tennis talent at the College, Sheldon entered two teams into the highest division, with our second team finishing as runners-up, and being the only team to seriously challenge our first team.  Most pleasingly, all players displayed great sportsmanship and humility, representing the College with pride.

Our teams now progress to the State Finals, where they will compete in all four divisions - Green Ball (Year 6 and under), Orange Ball (Year 5 and under), Unisex Red Ball (Year 4 and under) and Girls’ Red Ball (Year 4 and under).

Credit for these amazing results goes to the students for their hard work, and also to the Sheldon Academy of Sport Tennis coaching team, led by Mr Jake Alchin, Mr Nathan Eshmade and Mr Huey Hoang.

Sheldon College’s tennis reputation is spreading far and wide, with College enrolment enquiries now regularly generated by our excellent tennis program.
