The Australian School of the Arts presented their annual dance celebration, Just Dance, last Friday 21 August.

This year’s event comprised one evening show that featured performances from the College’s Middle and Senior dance groups (approx. 120 students from Years 5 to 12). To avoid having a large audience on campus, this year’s Just Dance event was also live streamed directly to the TV’s, phones and computers of the members of the College community.

All the participating students were excited to finally perform the choreography they had been working on avidly since the beginning of Term 1.

The audience was treated to a variety of outstanding performances including ASTA Dance Academy Performance Troupes, Year 9 & 10 classroom dance groups and the award recipients from this year’s Senior College Choreography Competition.

A pinnacle moment of the evening was when Olivia van Gool was named as the 2020 recipient of the Get Dancing Award in recognition for her passion and commitment to Dance. Sheldon College is committed to providing equal performance/recognition opportunities for all students regardless of their chosen Arts genre.
