Rehearsals are well and truly underway for the College’s 2020 production of Wicked.

The musical Wicked is filled with much youthful wonder and follows an enchanting storyline, told from the perspectives of lead characters Glinda and Elphaba, about their lives before and after the arrival of Dorothy in the Land of Oz.

With a number of leading roles and space for a large ensemble, this musical allows for a rich and diverse cast. All of the students performing will have the opportunity to add their own creative flair to the roles that they play and will be provided with the opportunity to really show off their many talents.

Front row - Joshua Thompson (Boq), Lara Wilson (Nessarose), Angelina Bourke (Glinda)
Back row - Quinn Chambers (Wizard), Paul Gossage (Doctor Dillamond), Zephram Chambers (Fiyero), Sophie Moman (Madame Morrible) and Crispin Swartz (Elphaba)

Mr Darren Harvey, Director of Co-Curricular and Executive Producer/Director of Wicked is already very impressed with the performance of the students.

“This musical score is considered to be one of the most challenging to perform and the students are already vastly outperforming where I thought they would be at this point in time,” said Mr Harvey.

“It is so exciting knowing that the students are going to be able to present the full Broadway musical for their audience.” Year 11 student, Ashleigh Mullins is overjoyed to be one of the dancers in this year’s musical.

“It is amazing to be able to have an experience such as this one - to get to spend time with my friends, have fun and create wonderful memories,” she said.

One of the best things to watch out for in this year’s performance of Wicked is its stars, whose talents are sure to cast a powerful spell on all.

Stay Tuned to see this spectacular performance live, on stage at the Redlands Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) in May this year. Tickets go on sale in March.
