Nomika and the Sheldon College Soul Band are performing at this year’s first Live at Bond Concert as part of the Bond University Twilight Open Day on July 28. Performance schedule: 5:00pm - Sheldon College Soul Band 6:10pm - Nomika 7:35pm - Fireworks over the lake.

Sheldon College Soul Band 

Incorporating styles from musical theatre, R&B and Motown, this hugely popular ensemble features some of Sheldon College’s most experienced instrumental and vocal students. The band is conducted by teacher Lachlan Bell (who also plays guitar in Nomika). Nomika has performed at various venues including the Cleveland Twilight Markets and the prestigious Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron Commodore’s Ball.

Nomika Riding high on the success of a rebrand and with a new single, Nomika recently launched their debut EP, Motion. After touring with their new five-track EP through May and a show at Peak Festival in Perisher Valley, Nomika are making a special appearance at Bond University for the Twilight Open Day celebrations. The eight-piece line up, fronted by award-winning vocalist Megan Crocombe, draws upon influences including Hiatus KaiyoteVulfpeckSnarky PuppyAnderson .PaakThe Bamboos and Brooklyn Funk Essentials to produce sensational grooves laced with provoking melodies. 

Their music is a small step away from the all-out party vibe of their former incarnation, His Merry Men – a step into the cooler, darker waters of nu-soul and jazz funk.
