The Junior College Robotics team, the Sheldon College Tech Wizards Rescue, competed in "the educational game of the new millennium", the 2018 RoboCup Junior Australia Open National Competition in Melbourne. After winning 2nd place in Queensland overall, the team went on to compete against 100 schools from across Australia. The students found inspiration in meeting, and observing, how other teams used Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in their projects.

RoboCup Junior is played in 30 countries and the Educational Competitions involve not only engineering and IT skills, but cross curriculum skills to present project-based solutions to a societal problem.
