Each year, students in Years 10, 11 and 12 are provided with the opportunity to give up some of their school holidays to gain their Cert III in Aviation (Remote Pilot – Visual Line of Sight), in partnership with Australian Unmanned Systems Academy.

By partaking in this Nationally Recognised Course, 20 Senior students have been able to learn from industry leaders, thereby gaining a deeper understanding of drone technology and related career opportunities. All participating students have now learnt how to read aeronautical maps, understand CASA Rules and Regulations and UAV Maintenance, whilst also gaining hands-on drone flying experience.

The highlight for many students was their ability to not only learn the theoretical components of aviation but also getting to test out their newly obtained skills by flying a drone on the College Campus.
