Sheldon College Year 12 Students have donated $3,714 to The Charlie Teo Foundation to aid in brain cancer research.

The Charlie Teo Foundation was established by world-renowned neurosurgeon, Professor Charlie Teo AM and focused on running a low cost, lean and efficient charity and thinking outside the box to fund more innovative brain cancer research.

The Senior Students held events throughout the year including bake sales, hosting BBQs and special Pink Day sporting events at GBC. The culmination of their efforts was meeting and providing their donation to representatives of The Charlie Teo Foundation, Kathy and Tony Abussi on Friday 26 October.

Mrs Abussi said The Foundation is focused on funding brain cancer research and providing locals with access to cutting edge trials.

The fundraising efforts of the Graduating Class of 2018 is part of an active Community Engagement focus of the College.  Sheldon College educates around 1500 students from 15 months through to Year 12 in the non-denominational co-educational College set on 56 acres.
