For the first time, Queensland is celebrating its own Youth Week.

Youth Week celebrates the achievements, vitality, and strength of young Queenslanders aged 12 to 25 and helps to acknowledge the positive contribution young people make to our communities and Queensland’s social, cultural and economic life.

Queensland Youth Week 2018 commenced on Friday 6 April and runs until Sunday 15 April 2018.

As a part of the celebrations, a series of events and activities will take place including a Youth Engagement Hub, designed to connect peers to have their say on what matters to them and a portal on Cyberbullying with practical ways on how to deal with Cyberbullying and how to help a friend.

Scott Millar, Sheldon College 2017 Graduate will play his part in the celebrations too. Scott is a young entrepreneur who started BOP Industries, a hologram and technology company as part of a Sheldon College Business Project when he was in Year 9. Scott is a member of the panel presenting at the River City Labs “Let’s Celebrate Our Young Starters” at the Precinct in Fortitude Valley on Friday 13 April.  At the conference, participants can gain insights into what life is like as a young entrepreneur and can connect with some of Brisbane’s leading young entrepreneurs.
