Seven students represented the Sheldon Swimming Academy at the Queensland Short Course Championships last weekend at Chandler.

The athletes prepared themselves well for this competition over a period of five months, displaying a great deal of commitment and hard work, with students attending up to nine training sessions per week.  This dedication was rewarded with an incredible 28 personal best performances from 30 events contested, with every member of the team achieving at least one PB.

Tayla Moody had a heavy program consisting of eight events, achieving PB’s in all eight. Tayla also secured four top 10 finishes. Sophie White also PB’d in all six of her events with a notable 32 second PB in the 800m freestyle, Sophie broke into the top 10 in two events. Annabel White also managed to achieve two top 10 finishes on her way to recording three PB’s from four swims.

Every member of the team performed admirably and many of the PB’s achieved by them during the competition were sizeable. We would also like to congratulate these fantastic students and their talented coach, Mr Alex Jordan.
