It was our longest season, biggest audience, first time with a digital projected set, first time using a theatrical flying rig, and also our largest cast including over 300 costumes.

Sheldon College has marked its 20 year anniversary year in style, with a stunning production of the Broadway Musical ‘Mary Poppins’ at Redland Performing Arts Centre. The two-week season sold out in just days, with an extra performance added to meet demand. Over 3,700 Redlands’ residents enjoyed the outstanding presentation, featuring many students of the Australian School of the Arts (ASTA) in lead roles.

"This show has had so many firsts for us, it is our longest season, biggest audience, first time with a digital projected set, first time using a theatrical flying rig, and also our largest cast including over 300 costumes."

Mr Darren Harvey, Executive Producer/Director

The show received excellent local and national reviews including the prestigious theatre publication Stage Whispers. Audiences were amazed at the professional standard of the young performers, with many ranking it on a par with high budget professional touring shows. To quote the musical’s ubiquitous lead character, Sheldon College’s Mary Poppins the Broadway Musical was “practically perfect”.
