Week Two of this term was a time to highlight the importance and celebrate the role of Health & Physical Education in the College and within the community.

This year we focused on giving everything a go and encouraged students to develop their HPE skills by taking part in an extensive list of daily sport activities

Sport plays an integral part in the well-rounded education offered by Sheldon College. Every student is supported and challenged through a range of activities throughout HPE Week.

“It is vital that students understand the importance of good nutrition, exercise and a balanced lifestyle. You can’t beat a healthy, body, mind and heart!” said Mr. Tom Howard, Faculty of Health and Physical Education.

The HPE Week's action-packed schedule for Junior, Middle and Senior College students including Dodgeball, Mixed Touch Football, Handball, Skipping Disco and the annual TOB Volleyball match between staff and students to battle it out for the winning place. The students were ready and roaring on their feet to take down the teachers.

Unfortunately, due to wet weather The Sheldon Stampede and Sheldon Amazing Race had to be postponed. Students will have the opportunity to complete these exciting events during their HPE lesson in the future.

Dr Lyn Bishop OAM – Founder and Principal/CEO commented “It has been wonderful to witness the enthusiasm and community engagement shown by staff and students this week. HPE Week nurtures the whole child and fully embraces the College’s philosophy of ‘Love, Laughter and Learning through the team spirit displayed.
