Information for Parents and Caregivers

During this unprecedented time in world history, the Sheldon College senior management team remains committed to putting the health and wellbeing of our students, staff and community at the forefront of all decision making.

In line with the announcement by the Queensland Premier and Education Minister, Sheldon College will be continue to be open to children of essential workers and vulnerable children during Term 2.  For the first five weeks of Term 2, all other children will continue their education in a home-based learning model.

To support this home-based learning model, Sheldon College has well developed academic programs in line with our Business Continuity Management Plan (BCM).  The BCM Plan was developed in conjunction with our academic teams in preparedness for the possibility of a College closure and will see modified academic programs being delivered virtually to students through our Learning Management System (iLINQ).  This process will enable interaction between staff and students in a virtual classroom, including lesson notes, links to videos, worked examples, PowerPoint presentations and forum discussions.  Students will also be able to engage with a number of purposeful digital learning tools.

Dr Bishop will continue to provide regular updates to parents and caregivers as she has done since the start of this pandemic.

Specific information relating to plans and operational aspects of schooling during this time will be available to parents and caregivers via iLINQ.

We thank all members of our College community for the support they have shown in these challenging times and urge them to continue supporting one another in the difficult times that lie ahead.
