On Friday 31 July, the College held its annual Years 7 – 12 Track and Field Carnival for 2020. 

Students were encouraged to participate in as many events as they could, thus earning their Houses bonus points for being involved. Those wishing to participate at a more competitive level were challenged to beat their personal best and strive for places on district teams. 

The event proved to be a wonderful success with all of the students excited to be able to finally participate (safely) in a regular College activity, particularly given the cancellation of many events over the past few months due to COVID-19.  

The dedication and skill displayed by the young athletes at the Carnival resulted in many records being broken. Congratulations to the following record breakers:

  • Sovannary Seremet, 13 Years Girls 100m Sprint – 12.80 seconds
  • Gary Chen, 13 Years Boys 100m Sprint – 12.61seconds
  • Chloe Michell, 14 Years Girls 800m – 2.27 minutes and 1500m Sprint - 4.57 minutes
  • Madison Witt, 14 Years Girls Discus - 27.34m 
  • Zephyr Marlin, 14 Years Boys 100m Sprint – 11.61 and High Jump – 1.65m
  • Mitchell Kellermann, 14 Years Boys 200m Sprint – 24.63
  • Hamish Larnach, 14 Years Boys Javelin – 32.32m
  • Zoe Beith, 15 Years Girls Shot Put – 11.37m
  • Ella Peters, 15 Years Girls Discus – 25.95m
  • Kalliyan Seremet, 15 Years Girls Long Jump – 5.27m, High Jump – 1.60m and Triple Jump – 10.77
  • Lachlan Cornelius, 16 Years Boys 100m Sprint – 11.36 seconds, 200m Sprint – 22.29 seconds, 800m Sprint – 2.03 minutes and 1500m Sprint - 4.19 minutes
  • Luke Stachowicz, 16 Years Boys Discus – 37.63m, Javelin – 56.90m and Long Jump – 6.33m 
  • Georgia Lane, Open Girls Javelin – 31.97m 
  • Jess Hoban, Open Girls Triple Jump – 11.03m
  • Kalani Lang, Open Boys 100m Sprint – 11.02 seconds and 800m Sprint – 1.58 minutes
  • Zander Zwolsman, Open Boys Shot Put – 12.53m
  • Ben McCloskey, Open Boys Discus – 35.07m
