Congratulations to Year 9 student, Lehan Ling who participated in the Queensland Symphony Orchestra Young Instrumentalist Prize. Lehan won two mentoring opportunities with QSO (Queensland Symphony Orchestra) and a cash prize of $2000.

Held at the ABC Studios in Southbank on Monday 4 March, Lehan performed two movements from Paul Creston’s Concertino for Marimba in a public recital featuring six virtuoso finalists. The judging panel featured various personnel from QSO including Concertmaster Mr Warwick Adeney and Principal Oboe, Mr Huw Jones.  

Fifty-one exceptional student musicians from across Queensland, including five other Sheldon College studentsauditioned to take part in this competition. Only six, including Lehan, were selected to perform in the finals.
