“Mums hold our hands for a moment, but they hold our hearts for a lifetime.” – Year 1 student, Willow Bowdern.

In celebration of the wonderful jobs Mums do, on Friday 10 May Sheldon College’s Junior College students invited their Mums to attend an exciting Junior Assembly whereby they were treated to wonderful musical performances, before indulging in a delicious morning tea.

The theme of the assembly was designed to encourage students to actively cultivate appreciation for their Mums by reflecting on all of the great things that they do every single day and to also remind them that Mothers are the light in each of our lives.

Students from each Year level took the time to publicly reflect on and thank their Mothers for being someone that they can love so much.

“Mothers have ears that listen and arms that hold. Love that is never ending and hearts of gold,” was a heart-warming poem recited by Year 3 students Phoebe Mainwaring and Ollie Wallwork.

At Sheldon College we are truly thankful for the support, dedication and love that each of our students receive from their Mothers, and Friday’s morning tea was a wonderful way of showing this.
