Today, students and teachers across the campus left their uniforms behind and instead turned up disguised as their favourite book characters in celebration of Book Week.

Each year the week-long celebration of Book Week provides students in all year levels with the opportunity to share their love of books with their peers and allow their favourite characters to come to life.

During this morning’s fun-filled assembly, students and staff participated in a book character parade, showcasing to the rest of the school their creativity and commitment to effectively representing their favourite books and book characters.

As in the words of children’s author, Kate DiCamillo “Reading should not be presented to children as a chore or a duty. It should be offered to them as a precious gift.”

Sheldon College would like to thank everyone who got involved for the time and effort spent preparing such wonderful costumes.
