Sheldon College has limited spaces for overseas students to study in Australia as part of our short-term Study Abroad program. The program allows international students to experience first-hand the culture, language and style of learning within an Australian school.

Students are immersed in all College activities as they experience daily life as a Sheldon College student. To maximise their time here we also encourage them to be involved in our extensive co-curricular and extra-curricular programs. Places exist in Year 1 to Year 9.

Entry requirements include:
  • Minimum age of 6 years
  • Above average results from their home school
  • A level of English that will enable them to participate successfully in mainstream classes
Features of this program include:
  • First class Education Programs based on the latest educational research delivered by highly skilled and specialist teachers through a range of digital tools and pedagogies. 
  • Sheldon College Teacher of English as a Second Language (TESOL) to assist students achieve maximum participation in all classroom activities.
  • A dedicated Pastoral Care and Welfare Support teacher to assist students in better understanding Australian culture and values to support immersion in a foreign culture.
  • Extra-Curricular Program tailored especially for Study Abroad students. This program provides Private Tuition Master Classes in the areas of Instrumental Music, Performing Arts, Sporting Enrichment including Tennis and Swimming and private Technology lessons in Mixed Reality, Robotics or Design and Rapid Prototyping.
  • Students are provided with access to all the software needed to fully engage with all aspects of the curriculum.
  • Accommodation with a Sheldon homestay family for the duration of their studies (only available to students in year 7-9).
