Sheldon College International Education once again hosted their Adult English Conversation Class yesterday.

This weekly online initiative provides Sheldon College international families with the opportunity to connect; engage in conversation and be exposed to other cultures.

Participants become independent, gain confidence and strengthen their social English skills, whilst experiencing Australian culture in a safe and welcoming environment.

We look forward to these classes being open to the wider community and commencing, on campus in the English Language Centre at Sheldon College when advised. Further details to follow.

"This is a short online course as a prelude to coming on campus next term. We are covering basic introductions, family, food and talking about their homes. Students range in ability from beginner to advanced. Participants have been in Australia for years, some only months. We have been playing games and doing lots of activities to get to know one another better. We have a mix of nationalities - Chinese, Japanese and Brazilian. We are also learning skills such as the art of 'small talk' so they can become better connected to the Sheldon community. There have been requests also for us to run practical sessions about such things as writing emails to teachers and interacting with the iLINQ portal".
