You're invited to participate in the Sheldon College STEAM Workshops being held during July school holidays in the Linq Precinct Friday 12 July 2019 from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
The Workshops are offered to students not currently enrolled at Sheldon College, to explore STEAM-based programs in our purpose built LINQ Precinct facilities.
There are five practical workshops to choose from, and students work collaboratively with Sheldon College staff on problem-solving, prototyping and implementing a range of solutions throughout the day.
The cost is $40 per child and includes lunch

Design Like An Engineer Using Sphero's

Learn to think like an engineer by using the engineering design model to solve real-world problems. Young designers will be given the opportunity to brainstorm solutions for building bridges that are long enough to cross a gap and structurally sound to hold a Sphero, a spherical robot, to navigate across their designed paths. The young engineers will construct a Beam, Truss, Suspension and Cable-Stay bridges along with coding the Sphero’s speed, rotation, distance and time.

Creating 3D Art in Virtual Reality

Experiment with 3D modelling software such as CoSpaces and Unity to start to understand how to build for virtual and mixed reality environments. You will be taught how to create your very own virtual world and then given the opportunity to experience in using the HTC VIVE and Oculus Go.
