As part of the Technologies co-curricular program, students from Years 3 and 4 have spent the last two terms preparing for RoboCup Junior, an annual Robotics competition. Recently, these students competed at the Queensland State Championships held at the University of Queensland.
Sheldon College participated in both the RobCup Dance and RoboCup Rescue categories and competed against over thirty schools across Queensland. These teams came very close ranking 7th and 8th in the competition. The RoboCup Junior Dance is an integration of Science, Technology and the Arts and students were encouraged to dress and choreograph their robots. The rescue challenge Robots must complete a course by following a winding line on a series of tiles to a designated rescue area.
Congratulations to our competitors and our Robotic coaches Miss Parkyn and Miss Tierney.
