ICT and eLearning
Information and communication technologies transform the ways that students think and learn and give them greater control over how, where and when they learn.
Mr Murray James - Director of ICT
The College’s approach to technology acknowledges that it is like any other tool. It is how it is used that determines its success. Technology is a modern tool with a place in the classroom and the College recognises its value. To date, Sheldon College has assisted students’ ICT skills development by providing access to dedicated ICT curriculum programs and a range of ICT tools. These include dedicated computer labs, College provided desktops and laptops, sets of mobile devices for our Preparatory to Year 4 students for contextual based mobile learning, and well equipped Senior and Junior Learning Centres.
Sheldon College Device Program 2018
Bring Your Own Device Program
As a part of the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program within the College, all students in Year 4 to 12 are required to bring their own electronic devices to the College. This program allows them (and their families) to choose their own devices and use them at the College in their classes. Additional details about this program are available in iLINQ.
Sheldon College has partnered with JB HiFi to provide parents access to purchase BYOD devices through a customised online portal. The portal aims to make purchasing simpler by offering a range of devices that meet minimum specifications for the College. Parents may use this portal to select a device, accessories, warranty extensions and ADP (accidental damage protection) plans and payment options. Click to view details on the JB HiFi 2018 BYOD Portal.
Should you wish to purchase a device from a different supplier we recommend that you select a device that meets the device specifications which are detailed in the Device Specifications Checklist.
