Alumni Advisory Board

The Sheldon College Alumni Advisory Board is made up of alumni who are enthusiastic about fostering and maintaining connections between the College and its graduates, and developing a successful and cohesive alumni community.

Matthiew Hogg
Position: Chair   Graduated: 2004
Matthiew holds a Bachelor of Business Management (Real Estate and Development) from the University of Queensland. He worked at Suncorp for 10 years, with his most recent role as Retail Workplace Advisor. Matthiew managed the property aspect of a national portfolio of more than 550 retail bank branches, offices and ATMs, with a multi-million dollar annual rent cost. After leaving in 2017, he purchased Management Rights of a residential complex in Wynnum West which now sees him as the On Site Caretaker and Property Manager. He has also created a new business, ‘Matthiew Hogg Property’, and independently sells and manages residential and retail properties. He is married to fellow Alumni Julie Hogg (2003) and has two young daughters.

Stephen Gibson
Position: Advisory Board member   Graduated: 2003
Stephen is a director of McCarthy Durie Lawyers, which employs some sixty staff across three sites in Redland and Brisbane cities. He was admitted to practice as a solicitor in July 2010, and has since that time developed expertise in a broad range of real estate and business transactions. Of approximately 11,000 lawyers currently admitted to practice in Queensland, Stephen is now one of only twenty-seven Accredited Property Law Specialists in the State. Stephen also has business interests in the property development and construction industries, and is a father to two beautiful children, both of whom are enrolled at Wonderland. Before coming to the law Stephen completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business at Griffith University.

Emma Wilkes
Position: Advisory Board member   Graduated: 2009
Emma has a Bachelor of Business (Events Management and Marketing). She has been working in the ‘not for profit’ industry since leaving the College, specialising in large scale community events. In her current role of Recreation Program Co-ordinator at Camp Quality, Emma manages a range of volunteers and families and co-ordinates a number of community events. Emma has previously worked at Sheldon Events Centre as the Events Co-ordinator and is looking forward to giving back to the College that gave her so much.
